HOME TEAM by Jake Green
1st March - 4th April 2025
Leyton of London are excited to announce the launch of a photographic takeover in Leyton High Road, E10.
The Home Team exhibition will display photography by local visual artist Jake Green in shops and outdoor locations. The project will also feature a hand painted mural of Omar Beckles by international artist Woskerski and bespoke textile tapestries by artist Tamasyn Gambell.
The work brings the high street to life with a trail celebrating the rich football heritage of Leyton, intertwined with the local community.
Follow the trail to discover a multitude of different artworks and enjoy a tapestry of local cultures on the way… an audio piece will also accompany the exhibition and can be listened to below.
Over a number of years Jake has documented the fans, staff, players and community deeply engrained in Leyton Orient Football Club. This project serves as a visual archive and celebration of the people and places that make up one of London’s oldest clubs. Having worked as a steward and turnstile operator at Leyton Orient as a teenager the late 90’s - Jake has revisited old friends and documented local legends.
The ‘Home Team - Leyton Trail Exhibition’ builds on the recent trend of fashion and art embracing football culture, following the success of Jeremy Deller x Arsenal, Tottenham’s OOF gallery, Walthamstow FC x William Morris’s kit collaboration (D&AD).
This exhibition showcases murals, photography, audio and textiles to share fragments of stories from more than 100 years of footballing history.
